About the Program- "Building a Dream Team: How to Collaborate Effectively at Your Association"
Teams should aspire to work constructively by discussing and debating tough issues, openly and respectfully, to ensure common commitment and accountability for expected results. But how does your team achieve this? This program provides insights on how to build a greater degree of trust in order to address conflict in ways that grow respect along with the ability to produce more effective results - together.

The session will:

  • Review the Bookends of Leadership© to balance authority and collaboration, by knowing when and how to best communicate a decision by authority in the two most respectful ways possible.
  • Understand and practice a five-step process for not just understanding another's point of view but actually having them experience being understood - a prerequisite to having them consider any other point of view.
  • Know what is required for your team to be able to hold each other accountable for team goals, for seeing the team's objectives as a shared responsibility.
  • Understand the challenges and benefits of being a facilitator of team decisions versus being the sole decider.
